🌱 This Week at Something Good – Box Prediction
I am really so excited about this week’s boxes! The little bok choys are finally ready to harvest, and they are soooo yummy. 🥬 They’re tender, mild, a little sweet, and one of those vegetables that doesn’t need much to make it delicious.
We’re also getting that fun mix of seasons right now — sweet potatoes and greens are coming in, while we’re still enjoying some tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, and fruit.
Basic Box
• Baby bok choy
• Orange sweet potatoes
• Sweetie apples
• Zucchini or cucumbers
• Red onions
• Ojai Pixies
Regular Box Additions
• Basil
• Cherry tomatoes
• Lettuce
• Carrots
Large Box Additions
• Extra Sweetie apples
• Dragon fruit
• Parsley or cilantro
• Garlic
• Romaine lettuce
🍎 Fruit Expansion
• Ojai Pixies or Dragon fruit
• Sweetie apples
The perfect little snacks to reach for throughout the week! I love having fruit around that you can just grab and go — something sweet, fresh, and grown close to home. 🤍
🥬 Never cooked bok choy before?
Keep it simple! Cut your bok choy in half lengthwise and give it a good rinse. Heat a little olive oil in a pan, place the bok choy cut-side down, and let it cook for a few minutes until it gets a little golden.
Add some minced garlic, a splash of soy sauce, and a tiny splash of water. Cover for another 2–3 minutes until the leaves are wilted and the stems are tender but still have a little crunch.
Finish with a squeeze of lemon or lime if you have one. So easy and so good.
A little goodness in your box 💚
🥬 Bok choy gives you vitamins C and K, along with folate and other nutrients.
🍠 Orange sweet potatoes are packed with beta-carotene, which your body converts to vitamin A.
🍎 Apples are a great source of fiber, especially when you leave the skin on.
🍊 Pixies are a sweet little source of vitamin C.
🥕 Carrots provide beta-carotene and fiber.
🍅 Tomatoes provide vitamin C, potassium, and lycopene.
🥬 Lettuce & romaine bring folate and vitamins A and K to the table.
🌿 Fresh herbs add flavor along with vitamins and naturally occurring plant compounds.
🧄 Garlic contains beneficial sulfur-containing plant compounds — and makes just about everything taste better.
🐉 Dragon fruit provides fiber, vitamin C, and naturally occurring antioxidants.
As always, this is our best prediction based on what’s looking ready in the fields. Things can change between now and harvest, but this is what we’re hoping to bring you Wednesday. 🌱

No Bread This Week
Our baker is taking the week off! She bakes so much bread for us weekly, we are so very grateful and I truly hope she gets some very well deserved rest this week! So, everyone’s sourdough “subscriptions” will be removed for next week, OCT 7th and 8th… a credit for your bread will be added to your account. Thank you for understanding 💚
